As for most barbers, the journey began in Moms basement, with nothing but a pair of clippers and an old barber chair I found on craigslist. I worked close to 10 different jobs before I realized that I was never going to be happy working for someone else and working just to make money. I considered everything I enjoyed about work, and came up with the following realizations- I wanted to be my own boss, I wanted freedom to express my creativity and I wanted to serve others while doing so. Almost immediately, I realized then and there that I wanted to become a barber.

The road

After getting licensed, I found my way into a few shops near home, eventually rooting myself at Levelz Barbershop in Sterling Heights. A few years in I had a steady book of clientele and also managed to pick up an educator position with a mens product line. I was even lucky enough to volunteer at the VA hospital once a week for a few months.

Once I felt that I had hit my peak growth in those environments, I decided to branch off and rent a personal suite so that I could tailor the environment to further compliment the haircut experience. This is when the Davinci brand was cemented in place as a brand that truly offers a collectively premium experience.

today

After a successful two years of cutting in the suite, I made the decision to purchase a full barbershop. It wasn’t just any shop, it was the one that I’d built my clientele in, where I first started. We’ve renovated the entire shop and also managed to find some amazing employees to join that share the same goals and vision, and that is to provide the best all around experience to our clients all the time.

Being a barber has truly been a blessing, and the mindset that we all share here is this. We didnt choose to do this because of the money or the attention that comes with being a barber. We choose to do this because we can directly and positively affect someones entire day and even week, by treating them good and giving a great haircut. Its true when they say that when you look good, you feel good and when you feel good, you do good. We take pride in helping on the first part of that cycle.
